As Professor Wil van der Aalst stated, “Microsoft finally saw the light and added process mining to their toolset”. It is called Process Advisor and is embedded in the Power Automate (RPA) environment. However, it was expected to see the process mining in the Power BI, its leading solution in the business intelligence market. It might be due to the fact, that there are already active vendors providing process mining in the Power BI: PafNow, ProcessM and Process Science. Or Microsoft is heavily investing in Power Automate and doesn’t want to put all of the eggs in one basket. More information is provided here.
